198? Steinberger XM2 Bass
This is a genuine "Newburgh" Steinberger XM2. It is an '86, '87, or '88, and that's as close as I can narrow it down. As mentioned in the Demos "Tech" section, I have used this on a good chunk of the demos I've recorded. It has amazing tone...plug and play tone I call it. You can plug this bass directly into the board and have great tone. It's a great tone that combines the "Hi-fi"-ness of active electronics (EMGs) and Graphite composite (neck), and the "tone"-ness of a real dense wood body (maple to be precise). I used this bass on tour, and for most of my bass lessons. It is one of the most amazingly stable instruments I've ever seen. It almost never goes out of tune, and never needs any adjustments. It also weighs a ton. It just has an awesome vibe to it, hence why it's stuck around in the arsenal for over a decade :)
